Property Green Giant

Location

The Green Giant property comprises of 74 mining claims covering 35.89 Sq/km. It is located in the Abitibi region of northwestern Quebec, approximately 70 kilometres north of Amos, a town of about 13,000 inhabitants, and only 8 kilometres south of the former Sleeping Giant mine owned by North American Palladium.

Geology

The Green Giant property surrounds a probable felsic intrusive which was detected on regional geophysical survey MEGATEM maps published in 2010 by the Government of Quebec (DP-2010-05). Structural fabric observed on the property from this survey suggests that the intrusion is synvolcanic and is affected by the same regional deformation which is occurred within intrusions of the Sleeping Giant Mine. A better geological understanding of Green Giant will emerge once ground geophysics takes place in the coming months.

The Sleeping Giant Mine was in production from 1988 to 1991 and 1993 to September 2008, when it was placed on care and maintenance by Iamgold, its previous owner. At the end of 2008, cumulative production was approximately 960,000 ounces of gold at an average grade of about 11.44 g/t Au (www.infomine.com). The location of the mine matches a disturbance in the regional tectonic grain which forms a triple junction emphasized by the three tonalitic polyphase and synvolcanic plutons arrangement. This area is affected by major deformation zones E-W and NW-SE (www.infomine.com).
